Hazardous Materials Management (CUPA)
The Lake County Division of Environmental Health is the Certified Unified Program Agency for all of Lake County, dealing with hazardous waste and hazardous materials. Environmental Health personnel permit and inspect hazardous waste generators and hazardous waste on-site treatment, hazardous materials handlers, above-ground storage tanks, and underground storage tanks in accordance with the California Health and Safety Code. Environmental Health requires and reviews hazardous material release response plans and inventories (business plans) from businesses.
