Emergency Notification

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office has the capability to provide emergency information to residents of Lake County through a service called CityWatch.  Lake County uses CityWatch to notify residents about emergency incidents, missing children alerts, evacuation information and other emergency situations.

CAUTION: Due to the unforeseen nature of some emergencies, no one can fully guarantee that you will receive a notification every time.  Please keep yourself informed by continuing to monitor other public safety warning and information systems (such as television and radio) whenever possible.  Though CityWatch is considered effective and efficient, you should not wait for or rely exclusively on a mass notification system call for evacuation if you think you are in immediate danger.

The CityWatch uses ATT landline phone information but DOES NOT include cell phone or VOIP phone data.  Lake County recognizes that many permanent residents and most temporary residents may rely on their cell phones for emergency notification.

If you would like your cell phone or VOIP phone to be included in Lake County’s CityWatch emergency notification system database, please visit the Lake County Alert Sign Up page and follow the instructions.
