Hazard Mitigation Plan Update

*This page is under construction*

Mitigation is an action to reduce and/or eliminate the impacts to life, property, and the environment from hazards. The Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000 (DMA 2000) requires hazard mitigation planning in order to receive federal hazard mitigation funding. Planning efforts result in a hazard mitigation plan that details potential hazards, risks and mitigation goals/objectives.

The Lake County LHMP was last updated and FEMA approved in July 2018. The plan is required to be updated every five years in order to remain current.
