Dispatcher Paula Tolle

Paula Tolle was voted Communication’s Operator of the Year. Paula was not selected based on a specific incident, rather on the continued exemplary service and dedication shown every time she comes to work. Paula is very officer safety conscious, empathetic with the public and a thorough and patient trainer. Every day she sets a great example of these qualities not only to her trainees, but to her partner as well.

Paula showed patience when dealing with difficult callers, and empathy when dealing with upset or desperate callers. She also used professional command presence when talking with irate and uncooperative callers. She responded instinctively and quickly to requests from the field units and was able to maintain status and location of field units independently of the computer monitor. She was not only able to do her job, but was able to assist her partners when necessary without having to be asked. Paula was the epitome of a “Team Player”.

Paula became a Dispatch Training Operator in February of this year. She has gone above and beyond when instilling these same exceptional qualities in her trainees. Paula makes sure her trainees are that they are a critical part of the Law Enforcement family. She makes sure to secure the public’s trust and to ensure that the field units remain safe and get home to their families safely every day.
