Wanda Soliz was voted Correctional Officer of the Year. The reasons she was selected was because of her quality of work she performed on a daily basis. Wanda works overtime when shifts are short so staffing levels stay at a safe level.

Wanda is the liaison with the Department of Justice to calibrate the intoxilizer machine. She has taken this responsibility seriously and has kept machine operational and up to date.

Wanda had taken it upon herself to try and get a small gift for all staff (including dispatchers) during National Correctional Officer's week by collecting cans and plastic bottles for recycling. She took this money and ordered pens and pocket calendars to give to staff as a gift for recognition. She has collected donations for raffle prizes for the same week.

Wanda consistently reports for work with a positive attitude and goes above and beyond what the average officer does at this facility. She is a positive role model which is good for moral, safe staffing, and general quality of work.
