Local Vendor Preference Program

Sheriff Mitchell is pleased to announce that the Lake County Sheriff’s Department in coordination with the County of Lake, will be holding local vendor workshops so that the businesses within Lake County have the opportunity to see and discuss the goods and services used and provided to the Lake County Sheriff’s Department. Sheriff Mitchell is in complete support of the local vendor preference concept and is looking forward to cultivating a closer relationship with vendors in Lake County.

It is our hope that by providing this information, we will be able to join with our local businesses for the purchases of these goods and services.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Department will be publishing, on its website (lakesheriff.com) lists of items purchased, estimated quantities and costs. These lists will be updated frequently and will provide specifications when possible.

Future updates will list services required for the daily upkeep and maintenance of our facilities.

Attached, you will find a copy of the County’s local vendor preference Ordinance #2880 and a list of items. This list is in the first stages of completion.

A local vendor workshop will be announced in the near future and will be held at the Lake County Jail, Hill Road Facility.

Businesses requesting additional information can send an email to the Sheriff/Coroner Administrative Manager, Mary Beth Strong at mbs@co.lake.ca.us or call for details at 262-4218.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Department and the County of Lake appreciate your interest in this venture.

Below are links to the county Ordinance regarding local vendor preference as well lists of product and prices the Sheriff's office commonly buys. The list of items will continue to grow as we prepare the documents for posting on the internet. Future lists will also include services the Sheriff's Office uses.
